As a kid, I was aways pretty good at math and working out answers. I worked through logic puzzles and took pride in finding the correct answer. I loved the ideation and exploration needed in solving a problem, and the “a ha” moment when it happened. But I was always compelled to create—costumes, collages, my own puzzles—but never from a pattern or plan, finding joy in the process as much as the outcome. 

As I pursued a career in design, I realized there was never only one correct answer, just different ways of approaching a problem.
